PRESERVING LIVE SOUNDS OF THE BIG BAND SWING AND JAZZ ERA
OUR MISSION
The General Assembly Big Band is on a mission. Our mission is to preserve the music of the Big Band Swing and Jazz Era by making live performance available and easily accessible to the public. We plan to do this by producing our own concerts, free and open to the public, in multiple West Michigan venues.
Our summer 2020 concert series, which included concerts in Shelby, Whitehall, Pentwater, Fremont, Ludington and Baldwin, was canceled due to Corona Virus concerns. We hope to bring free concerts to West Michigan in the summer of 2021.
The band is now organized as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation and will be gratefully accepting your tax deductible donations at our concerts or by mail. To continue to produce concerts that are free to the public, the band needs public financial support and corporate sponsors. To find out more about becoming a sustaining donor or sponsor, please click on the DONATE tab below.
The band is also available for hire for public or private events by calling 616-328-1822 or emailing donhenry9@comcast.net.
